We are offering a senior level "UX/UI Designer" position for our latest game, Choices: Stories You Play, at our Mountain View office. This is an on-site, full-time position. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a UX/UI designer, you’ll work closely with a team of talented individuals across several disciplines within our organization to expand and develop new features for Choices: Stories You Play, our latest mobile game.

While your primary focus will be on UX flows, wireframes and conceptual design, you will also be heavily involved in UI design, visual prototyping, and asset production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work on making our flagship game (Choices, a Top 50 iOS and Android title) that millions have played
  • Turn your ideas into experiences that come to life on mobile
  • Design, plan and drive UX of key features and systems for exciting projects
  • Build wireframes and app flow layouts
  • Collaborate with artists and developers to transform wireframes and behaviors into highly polished UI and animated widgets

REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong grasp of modern app design patterns
  • Good understanding of mobile and responsive design best practices
  • Ability to gather and understand product requirements and work within technical constraints
  • Ability to work directly with multiple teams to guide implementation and realization of design
  • A great attitude and desire to work in a team environment
  • Expertise with Photoshop, Sketch, and Omni or equivalent software

Junior Game Writer

We are offering an entry-level "Junior Game Writer" position for our latest game, Choices: Stories You Play, at our Mountain View office. This is an on-site, full-time position that requires at least 40 hours per week. Pay rate is competitive, depending on experience (ranging from $17.50/hour to more depending on ability and quality of writing), and comes with benefits and the option of paid overtime (overtime is 1.5 x the hourly rate per hour).

Job Description and Responsibilities

You will be working with a team of writers to deliver weekly, quality content to our story-based apps. This position involves creative writing, extensive editorial work, game testing, and some social media networking as well as other more technical or artistic tasks. Given our small-studio format, you might find yourself wearing a variety of hats; candidates should be open and eager to work in several roles and learn new skills.

Requirements

Our ideal candidate writes stories with interesting characters and compelling narratives, is able to follow the established style and tone of our games, and can write from a variety of perspectives. Additionally, candidates should be able to receive frequent feedback, adapt writing to meet requirements, and consistently meet tight deadlines. Excellent copywriting and editing skills are a must. 

Plusses

  1. Major in English, specifically creative writing.
  2. Technical proficiency (some computer science coursework).
  3. Knowledge about and passion for the gaming industry, specifically the mobile gaming space.
  4. Familiarity making posts on Facebook, Twitter, and tumblr.
  5. Familiarity with Photoshop, Pixelmator, or other photo-editing software.
  6. Understanding of current high school trends and pop culture.
