Rachel: Plot twist: you are the Phantom AND the agent! You play as a super elite spy (otherwise known as a Phantom) for the Global Agency of Intelligence Affairs - aka GAIA. When a string of ransomware attacks threatens life as we know it, you and your irresistible new partner must overcome your budding tensions to stop the mysterious threat before it's too late.
We love a good agent x partner duo. Could there potentially be something more between us?
Coral: You know it wouldn’t be a Choices book without some angsty romance! Your character views the rules as guidelines, but your partner has you on a tight leash. Will your charm win them over, or will you be at odds until the bitter end?
Rachel: Just maaaaybe... I think Coral said it best. But I will say this, It's hard to resist a Phantom's charms. ;)
The Phantom Agent sounds really intense! Got any advice for players who dare to embark on this new mission?
Rachel: The life of a Phantom isn't easy. If you choose to accept your mission, get ready for a whirlwind of travel, a life of luxury, and a world full of secrets.
Coral: Your tech specialist has all the hottest gadgets to help you become the best Phantom in the game. And outfits aren’t just for looking pretty. Any choice can make or break your mission, perhaps even save the world… so choose wisely.
But no pressure! What were some of your favorite parts of producing this book and creating all the amazing art? Were there any particular obstacles you faced?
Rachel: This book means so much to me. As a fan of the spy genre (shout out to my fellow Chuck, Alias, and James Bond fans), I loved brainstorming this book. I consider myself an agent of chaos, so figuring out where to throw that in was a blast. Additionally, there is SO MUCH cool art in this book. We have everything from holograms for your comms to the BIG LOCATION NAMES for establishing shots... and two words: laser. grid. The entire team came together to make this book look amazing in every aspect. I am so happy people will finally be able to play it.
Coral: One of my favorite parts writing this project was getting to really dig into what our team can do. Producers, artists, and writers all came together to make the super sleek, spy fantasy come to life. We have high tech gadgets, jaw-dropping vistas, and an awesome music score to bring our story to the next level. We loved getting to step into the mind of a special agent and give them a personality that would really shine through as a confident, seasoned spy.
If you were to embark on a mission to save the world, what would be your top-secret agent name and who would you pick to be your partner?
Rachel: Call me... Agent Stilts (I'm tall, okay?). As for my sidekick, there are so many good spies to choose from, but I'm going to have to pick Charles Carmichael from Chuck. He's smart, funny, and has a supercomputer in his head. Perfect for any spy situation.
Agent Stilts suits you perfectly. I think we would have to choose Kim Possible for our partner. I mean she cheers and saves the world - all before dinner time! How could we say no?
