Recent Crashes and Game Updates
To all our fans,
I'd like to introduce myself. I'm Carissa, Pixelberry's new CEO. I was selected for this role in January 2023, after Oliver stepped down to take some well deserved time to focus on his family. I've worked at Pixelberry for 7 years and always loved how Oliver would reach out to all of you through our blog posts. My goal is to bring back this tradition. With this post being the first of many to come. We will get a chance to talk more about what is happening in our studio and Choices in the future.
First off, I'd like to thank everyone that has messaged our support teams about the current iOS crash. Sometimes, we find bugs that are difficult to reproduce internally, which makes it hard to identify how to fix them. Your messages have helped us narrow down the issue and we are currently working on a solution. Our team is testing the new update and we hope to have it live soon.
UPDATE: Version 3.3.1 of Choices is now available in the App Store, and it contains the fix for this crashing issue. Please install the latest game update and contact support@pixelberrystudios.com if you run into any further problems.
Now to some updates!
Book and Choice Passes
Some of you might have also noticed that we now offer the ability to purchase Book and Choice Passes. While this is still currently in testing, we hope to be able to roll them out to everyone pretty soon. These passes have normally been offered for free on specific books and we will continue to do so. The only difference is that now you will have an additional option to buy and use them on any book of your choice without having to wait for us to run the event.

Player Survey
We'd like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who's participated in our most recent surveys. It helps us understand better which common requests are important to the whole in-game community. While it might take us a bit longer to implement some of these requests, our teams are starting to look into how we can address them through the year.
One of the big themes was focused on our content. For those of you who have started playing The Deadliest Game, you might have noticed that a lot of your feedback is reflected in this book. The MC's gender is customizable, there are 3 LIs and be careful with your choices, as they might decide how the story unfolds! If you have not started this book, we invite you all to check it out. We look at information like total chapter plays, total diamonds spent and total audience that finishes a book to decide how many books should focus on similar offerings in the future.
We hope that you can enjoy this story as much as we enjoyed building this world!
For the rest of the year, we currently have 30% of releases that will have elements of Fantasy, Mystery, Crime, Paranormal, Slasher or Dystopia. While 60% of the slate will offer the option for MC gender customization. Our team has also been working hard on a queer-focused story, titled All of Us. Where you will get the chance to play as a Male or Female MC and experience routes coded for MLM and WLW. This one is close to our hearts, as we've wanted to release a book like this for a long time, creating a space for several of our writers to focus on experiences that reflect their lives.
Please keep in mind that sometimes we encounter issues that might change the book release schedule, but we will do our best to maintain these ratios during 2024.
